Fulbright Scholar and Director of the Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory at St. Cloud State University, Minnesota (USA), Prof. Heiko L. Schoenfuss, has generously donated a collection of books to the Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies (IESS) at the University of Ghana.
The donation took place during a brief event in the seminar room of the Institute, attended by Prof. Elvis Tiburu, representing the Provost of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, Prof. Kwasi Appeaning Addo, the Director of IESS, Prof. Christopher Gordon, former Director of IESS and Mr. Samuel Amebley, the Institute's Administrator, along with other staff members.
In a brief remark, the Institute's Administrator underscored the significance of the event in strengthening the enduring relationship between the Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies and St. Cloud University. He explained, "This book donation is part of the Fulbright scholar programme, which seeks to foster research and learning at the Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies."
Prof. Heiko L. Schoenfuss, in sharing his positive experience as a Fulbright scholar, expressed his motivation to contribute to the Institute. He expressed optimism that the donated books would significantly contribute to the advancement of science and research within the Institute. During the event, Prof. Schoenfuss presented a book titled "The Three Ages of Water" to the Provost, represented by Prof. Tiburu.

Accepting the book donation on behalf of the Provost, Prof. Elvis Tiburu conveyed heartfelt appreciation to Prof. Heiko L. Schoenfuss. He stated, "We are truly grateful for this generous donation, and I assure you that the Institute will maximise the utility of these valuable resources." Prof. Tiburu emphasised the pivotal role such contributions play in advancing academic excellence at IESS.

Earlier, Prof. Kwasi Appeaning Addo, the Director of IESS, elucidated the objective of Prof. Heiko L. Schoenfuss's visit to the University. He highlighted that as part of his visit, Prof. Heiko L. Schoenfuss delivered a lecture titled "From Thesis to Publication."
