Ag. Provost receives Delegation from the University of Buffalo, New York, USA

A seven-member delegation from the University of Buffalo (UB), New York, USA paid a courtesy call on the Ag. Provost of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences, (CBAS) Prof. John Ofosu-Anim on Wednesday January 11, 2017 to explore opportunities for experiential learning and for academic and research collaborations for mutual benefits in the areas of Engineering, Environmental and Sanitation Studies, Management and Social Work.

It was noted that per the collaborations, the University of Buffalo and the University of Ghana could execute shared projects or co-develop joint programmes for under-graduate students of both Universities at no costs to students from the University of Ghana.

In this regard, the delegation expressed the desire for a Memorandum of Understanding to be signed and arrangements concluded between the two universities so that a year from now, University of Buffalo could send students to University of Ghana for experiential learning.

The Ag. Provost, Prof. John Ofosu-Anim underscored the need to identify a collaborator in Engineering at University of Buffalo to explore collaborations with the School of Engineering Sciences.
It was also agreed that there will be a follow-up visit by a delegation from the University of Ghana to the University of Buffalo regarding the collaboration.
The University of Buffalo, New York is a premiere, research intensive public University and a member of the Association of American Universities. It is the largest university in the state of New York with about 30,000 students; 20,000 under-graduate and 10,000 post-graduate students.

Members of the delegation from the University of Buffalo comprised Dr. Dorothy Siaw-Asamoah, Clinical Assistant Professor, UB School of Management, Dr. Mara B. Huber, Associate Dean, Undergraduate Research and Experiential Learning, Cynthia M. Shore, Senior Assistant Dean, Alumni Engagement and External Relations, UB School of Management, Dr Tara Jabaar-Gyambrah, Senior Associate, UB Honours College, Ms. Tara Fenton, Graduate Student, UB School of Social Work and Mr. Philip Shore, UB School of Social Work.

The CBAS team comprised Prof. John Ofosu-Anim, Ag. Provost, CBAS and Dean, School of Agriculture, Prof. Boateng Onwona-Agyeman, Dean, School of Engineering Sciences and Mr. Emmanuel Baidoo, College Secretary
